Device Grading Criteria

We use a simple 4-tier grading system to assess your device's condition. Select the grade that best matches your device for the most accurate trade-in price.

These grades are used during inspection. Pick the nearest match when quoting; if the device arrives differently, we send an updated offer before anything proceeds.

Pristine

Like new — no visible signs of use

Qualifies if

  • Screen is flawless with no scratches
  • Body has no dents, scuffs, or marks
  • All buttons and ports work perfectly
  • Battery health above 90%
  • Original accessories preferred but not required

Does not qualify if

  • Any screen damage, even minor scratches
  • Any body marks or discolouration

Good

Light signs of use — fully functional

Qualifies if

  • Screen may have very light, barely visible scratches
  • Body may have minor cosmetic marks
  • All functions work perfectly
  • Battery health above 80%
  • No cracks or chips anywhere

Does not qualify if

  • Cracked or chipped screen
  • Deep scratches visible at arm's length
  • Any functional issues

Fair

Noticeable wear — everything works

Qualifies if

  • Screen has visible scratches (no cracks)
  • Body shows clear signs of everyday use
  • Scuffs, minor dents, or discolouration present
  • All core functions still work
  • Battery health above 70%

Does not qualify if

  • Cracked screen or back glass
  • Non-functional buttons or ports
  • Water damage indicators triggered

Poor

Significant damage or functional issues

Qualifies if

  • Cracked screen (still usable)
  • Cracked back glass
  • Heavy cosmetic damage
  • Battery health below 70%
  • Minor functional issues (e.g., speaker crackling)

Does not qualify if

  • Device does not turn on
  • Screen is completely unresponsive
  • Blacklisted or iCloud locked devices

Common Questions

What if my device is graded differently than I expected?

If our assessment differs from your selection, we'll notify you with an updated offer. You can accept the new price or request your device back — free of charge.

Do I need to include accessories?

No. We only assess the device itself. Accessories like chargers, cases, or boxes are not required and don't affect your trade-in price.

What about devices that don't turn on?

We currently don't accept devices that won't power on, are blacklisted, or are locked to an account (iCloud lock, Google FRP). Please contact us for special cases.
